What better way to inspire children then by fostering a lifetime love of reading? Barnes & Noble is thrilled to be celebrating Children’s Book Week – an annual literary event that’s not only a celebration of books, but also of connection – a way to unite children (and their grown-ups) with books, authors, and illustrators to showcase the wonder and joy of reading.

We’ve re-imagined our events and activities so all our young readers across the country can join in at home with great books and engaging virtual events. We invite you to follow along in the fun with the official hashtag for Children’s Book Week #BookWeek2020atHome so you can join in the conversation wherever you are! But that’s not all we have planned for Children’s Book Week 2020.

The Barnes & Noble National Children’s Short Story Contest

For all our young storytellers and promising wordsmiths, we’re calling on you to submit your original written or graphic short story for a chance to become a published author! The Barnes & Noble National Children’s Short Story Contest is the perfect way to celebrate the power of stories and share your creative spirit.
